This nostalgia bake is brought to you by Betty Crocker, who warehouses the Bisquick Velvet Crumb Cake Recipe on their website. (What? It’s no longer on the Bisquick box?) It was a favorite of mine as the child and remains a favorite, with minor tweaks to the recipe.
I have made a few adult-taste substitutions for the “nuts” (toasted pecans) and I used butter in place of the margarine or shortening.
Not as fancy as a Cafe Sabarsky cake, I highly recommend this cake for easy at-home cake one-ness.
