Welcome to Food for the Ages!
Hello from Lyons, Colorado, where I live with my 89-year-old mother, my husband John and our 18-year-old daughter Marie. We recently sold our family home just 10 minutes west of Boulder, Colorado, and moved in with my mom while we “float” and decide what to do next living-space wise.
Yes, we moved in with her parents at age 56! We couldn’t talk her into moving in with us–all of her friends are alive (something you start thinking about it this age, I guess but most of her friends are much younger) and they drop by here and make things pretty lively what with art class on Mondays for two hours, dinners with her fellow literary friends to catch up on their projects and whatever’s going on in the little 2,000 person town called Lyons.
Our daughter, Marie, just recently rejoined us to attend the local community college. It has been an education putting the four of us together in the same house and it’s working, and not without its challenges. But more on this later!
