This Food for the Ages gardening page will feature articles on growing high-altitude kitchen gardens and what’s happening at our local organic, commercial gardens.
Many of us are interested in sustainable living. We wish to grow fruit, vegetables, grains and cereals from our gardens that we can put up during the gardening season and eat throughout the winter. We want to try and grow our food organically for better nutritional value. And we realize that when we grow what we eat, we help ensure a better food future for ourselves and our families.
As a recently minted Colorado Master Gardener I am thrilled to be learning basic, practical skills and knowledge for growing high-altitude kitchen gardens.
Why study to be a Colorado Master Gardener? Because, we’re not in Kansas anymore, Toto!
